Track Review – ‘Mona’ by Indigo Velvet

If you’re into the Scottish music scene and haven’t yet heard of Edinburgh based band Indigo Velvet well, where the hell have you been? Also you’re missing out on an absolute gem! These boys are T-A-L-E-N-T-E-D and make no mistake about that!

Indigo Velvet are: Guitarists Darren Barclay and Jason Tucker, Bass player Laurie Adam and Drummer Billy McMahon. Mona was released at midnight and already makes us want to book a summer holiday.

From the first chord it’s uplifting, and immediately makes you feel like the sun is shining even on this dull dreich morning and the infectious beat has you bopping away and singing along to the lyrics. Known for their ‘TropPop’ sound, Indigo Velvet have a unique sound which is a desirable trait to have when it comes to finding their own sound in a very broad industry. WE absolutely LOVE it and it has ‘hit’ written all over it!

We’ve already added it to our summer playlists and cannot wait to hear it live.

Buy Mona on iTunes or alternatively you can stream the song here!
